  • Get to know our October Mentor of the Month, Erin Bontempt! To be a mentor like Erin, click here: Occupation: I work as a Tutor in English/Writing and am currently working toward earning my Masters degree. Why you chose to be a mentor: When I saw that mentors were needed to help local students make the transition between high school and college, I remembered how I felt during that time of my life. There is so much that needs to be done and, at times, it can be overwhelming. I wanted to be someone who could help others feel more comfortable by simply being a listening ear or a resource for information so I decided to sign up. Best tnAchieves moment: I have enjoyed getting to know my students at team meetings and through email communications, but my favorite moments by far are when I run in to my students around town and get to "check in" with them in person. It is great to hear from a student that classes are going well so far or to learn about an exciting upcoming event in one of their lives. Fun Fact: I love books. One day I want to have my own personal library!10-05-2015
