Walters State Community College
Please see Walters State's advising page for specific information and contacts for each advising department.
Thirty orientation dates are held over the summer at all campus locations with various time offerings. Students can sign up on Walters State's website once they create a My WS account. There is an online orientation that students must complete prior to attending in-person orientations on campus. At the in-person orientations, students will have to check in, attend the hour-long orientation session, and then register for classes and meet with their academic advisor. Each campus allows 100 students for each orientation session except the Greeneville campus, which allows a maximum of 75 students.
- July 9 at 1:00 p.m.
- July 11th at 1:00 p.m.
- July 15th at 5:00 p.m.
Students can use their MyWS student portals with checking for financial aid updates upon their admission, registering for classes, paying tuition and checking their grades!
Walters State students that are selected for verification or have missing information necessary for processing their application will receive an email to their Senators Mail account. Students can review their eligibility requirements through MyWS or follow up with the financial aid office to determine what documents are required to complete their financial aid application. Automated calls are also made on a weekly basis from mid-February through the start of the fall semester to students who have outstanding requirements. Walters State also sends representatives each high school in their 10-county area to directly support students in completing the verification process.
