Job Title: tnAchieves Community College Coordinator

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Serves as the Community College Coordinator for tnAchieves, a scholarship and mentoring program that works with students, parents, mentors, high school counselors, and various community and technical college representatives across Tennessee.  Coordinates all efforts related to community college retention and completion. Communicates directly with students, parents, and community college representatives to promote a successful student experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage retention programs for college students
  • Coordinate efforts with community colleges including scheduling FAFSA Days
  • Organize September team meetings
  • Coordinate and facilitate new student orientations
  • Maintain all databases including master college calendar
  • Communicate deadlines to students
  • Facilitate events related to various college success programs
  • Coordinate team tutoring with tnAchieves staff and college campuses
  • Plan and communicate community service events each semester
  • Gather and process community service hours from students
  • Assist in logistics of summer bridge program
  • Provide accurate reporting to Director of College Completion and Executive Director
  • Process confidential and non-routine information

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Previous non-profit, higher education or volunteer coordination experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Understanding of barriers related to higher education access for underserved populations
  • Comprehension of financial aid processes
  • Ability to cultivate relationships
  • Willingness to travel across the state when necessary

Job Title: tnAchieves Outreach Coordinator

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Serves as the Outreach Coordinator for tnAchieves, a scholarship and mentoring program that works with students, parents, volunteers, high school guidance counselors, and various community and technical college representatives across Tennessee.  Coordinates efforts related to volunteer recruitment, training and retention.  Communicates directly with volunteers to ensure full understanding of responsibilities. Handles logistics for regional advisory council meetings and communication. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate efforts with volunteers and regional advisory councils
  • Communicate with volunteers
  • Maintain all volunteer databases
  • Prepare materials and handle logistics for regional advisory council meetings
  • Maintain master calendar and schedule all volunteer recruitment activities and trainings
  • Facilitate volunteer recruitment and trainings across the state

Job Title: tnAchieves Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCAT) Coordinator

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Serves as the TCAT Coordinator for tnAchieves, a scholarship and mentoring program that works with students, parents, mentors, high school counselors, and various community and technical college representatives across Tennessee.  Coordinates all efforts related to technical college retention and success. Communicates directly with students, parents, and technical college representatives to promote a successful college experience.
